striped tee: forever 21 (similar) // peplum top: c/o choies // belt: kohls // jeans: american eagle // shoes: forever young shoes (similar) // bag: timi & leslie (different color) // watch: michael kors // necklace: c/o lisa leonard // bracelets: c/o hello fab & c/o poshlocket
This peplum top is quickly climbing the list to become one of my favorite tops in my closet. The fact that it’s sleeveless makes it so much more versatile too since wearing different shirts underneath it can totally change the look of it. Wearing it over a striped tee and with a gold belt was perfect for a dinner date to celebrate Philip’s 30th last week. I think I’ll try it with my gingham button up underneath it next!
p.s. Happy Mother’s Day yesterday! I’m so grateful for my boys who made me a mom, and for the amazing examples of motherhood all around me, including my angel mama, my grandmothers, my sister and sister-in-law, my mother-in-law, and too many friends to count!

Love the new blog design! I don't think I ever left a comment before but I've been a reader for years, love what this place has become! I'm a great fan of your sewing posts – maybe it's an idea to set up a Flickr account for photographs of the pieces readers have made with the help of your tutorials? Anyways, hope you had a great mother's day and love the peplum top!

  2. Lovin' the peplum! My dress for graduation is peplum and I love it!

I've been a reader for awhile now but hardly ever comment (hi!), and wanted to say that I really enjoy reading your blog and love your style. I know you recently moved to California (a dream!) and decorated your home, and I would love it if you would ever be interested in posting some of what you did, along with any home decorating tricks you've garnered. I'm currently working on decorating our apartment, but it's tricky for me and I'm on the lookout for ideas on what to do, where to go, etc. Anyways, I'd love to hear your thoughts if you're ever interested in posting on this topic as I'm sure you did a fantastic job. 🙂

That peplum top is gorgeous!! Totally perfect!

  14. I was upset when I heard on the Today show that silver was the "in" for the season. So I was tickled pink to see you rockin' all that gold! I love the wedges, but what do you normally chase your boys in at the park? I'm having a hard time letting go of the gym shoes….

Hi! I've considered your bag for my diaper bag but read a few reviews that have said it looks cheap in person and breaks down after a few months. What has been your experience? It looks adorable in the pictures!

  16. i like your new header! and i would have never thought to layer a shirt under a peplum, but you look great!
