Lazy Summer Days

valentine's day gifts for kids

Outfit Details:

On Me: Eyelash Tee, Similar Lounge Pants
On Fos + San: Striped Pajamas

Today is our first official day of summer! School got out on Friday, so we’re in full blown summer mode now.

We have a couple of trips planned over the next few months, and we made a summer bucket list a few weeks ago of big things we want to do, but we’ll also have a lot of normal lazy summer days at home snuggling in our pajamas.

My boys haven’t had new pajamas in ages, and with the heat wave that hit, we figured it was time to grab them some new summer jammies. I found these adorable striped ones at Nordstrom from Tucker + Tate, which is one of my favorite kids brands because they have adorable, wearable, pieces at great prices. These jammies are great quality, but also lightweight and super soft. My boys are totally no-fuss kind of dressers, so it’s perfect for them.

B was at school when we photographed these, but I bought him a matching pair too and the three of them have been wearing them non-stop. I love seeing all three of them matching!

I’m a pajama lover too, but I’m all about lounge pieces more than a matching set. I love this eyelash tee, and I wore it with some old gray joggers I bought a few years ago, but I found a similar pair here.

In the past, I’ve tried to make more specific plans about what we’ll do each day during the summer, but it turns out to be a lot of pressure on me to do something super fun each day, and a lot of begging children asking when the fun thing is going to happen. And I end up feeling flustered and stressed and don’t actually enjoy my children being home all the time.

So we’ve set up different expectations this summer and my focus is less on entertaining them, and more on being with them and working with them. We set up a family economy, based off of this program, and I love seeing them excited to work and earn and learn how to handle money. Today is our first day, so I’ll keep you updated on how it goes!

I’d love to know what you do with your kids during those lazy summer days!

We started our Ralphie-inspired family economy about 2 weeks ago too and my kids are ALL OVER IT. It has helped the kids have some direction during the day and I feel like I can breathe and enjoy them rather than running around behind them with a broom! 🙂

If you’re a man interested in Filipino women, you’ll want to be aware of certain culture-specific rules before you start filipino women dating one of these beautiful women. Filipinos value their family and future families highly. Be respectful of their parents and don’t talk about other women, especially if you’re dating a Filipina. Filipino women are also very jealous, so avoid talking about other women, as well as focusing on one woman.
