How To Wear Bows (In Clothing, Accessories and More)

It seems like everyone is on a big bow kick – from accessories to jewelry to clothing, bows are everywhere! Today we’re talking about how to style bows without looking like a little kid.

TODAY’S TRENDY TIP IS HOW TO STYLE BOWS

One of 2024’s biggest trends is BOWS. Hair bows, bows on shirts, bows on shoes, bows on jackets…bows everywhere!

I’m so excited about this bow trend. They’re so feminine and add a fun visual element to any outfit, but it can be easy to feel like a little girl. There are lots of new trends floating around all the time, and it’s hard to figure out how to incorporate them into your style without losing your style AND looking juvenile or overly trendy. So I want to show you a few outfits with bow pieces and how I styled them!

Bow Sweater Outfit

These sweaters with bows instead of buttons are all over the place right now and are a fun twist on the buttoned up cardigan that have been all over the place the last few years.

Bow Earrings outfit

If you want to keep it super simple and not overly feminine, add a pair of bow earrings. Mine are large and make a statement, but you could do tiny ones!

White Blouse with Bow Outfit

A necktie blouse is a great way to add the bow trend if you’re looking for a very classic outfit. These kinds of shirts have been around for decades, and feel very classy. They’d be a particularly good bow outfit option for an older woman, if you think hair bows feel too little girl-ish).

Black Hair Bow Outfit

Hair bows are SO trendy right now. I’m seeing everyone wear them, of all ages. Just pull your hair back in a half pony or full pony, or a bun, and add a bow. The slimmer width ribbons are definitely more trendy than the huge thick bows right now.

Bow Coat Outfit

This is a fun twist on a classic — a classic black coat with bow embellishments! You could wear it over jeans or a dress or whatever you’d like to make a statement!

Houndstooth Coat Outfit

This was one of my Christmas outfits, but still totally appropriate into the new year. A simple red bow in the hair adds a pretty feminine element to a sweater and coat outfit.

Love this post! The bow trend is still going strong, and I’m excited to learn how to style them without looking too childish. I’ve been experimenting with Easy Drawings with AI to create custom bows for my clothes and accessories, it’s been a game-changer!

  6. Those bow button cardigans have been catching my eye everywhere, but I wasn’t sure how to wear them without looking like I’m trying to relive my kindergarten days. Pairing them with structured wide-leg jeans instead of something frilly makes so much sense—definitely stealing that look for work.

Random aside: I’ve been using Fugu Ultra Fugu Ultra to tag and describe my outfit saves lately, and it’s weirdly satisfying for keeping track of which trends actually work for real life.

  7. That bow button cardigan paired with wide-leg jeans is such a smart combo—finally a way to wear the trend without looking like I’m headed to preschool. I love how the structured silhouette balances out the sweetness while keeping it office-appropriate. Been trying to figure out how to style that Dillard’s sweater for weeks! Random tip: if you’re into creating outfit content, I’ve been using grok imagine video 1.5 (grok imagine video 1.5) lately for quick styling clips and it’s surprisingly intuitive.

  8. That bow button cardigan from Dillard’s is exactly what I’ve been eyeing, but I was worried it would look too much like kindergartencore. Pairing it with structured wide-leg jeans instead of something frilly is such a smart way to balance the sweetness while keeping it office-appropriate. I love how you broke down the different bow sizes too—those slim hair ribbons feel way more sophisticated than the chunky ones from a few years ago.

Since I’ve been saving so many outfit inspo photos lately, I’ve been using Image Describer (Image Describer) to quickly catalog the details of looks I want to recreate. Super handy for keeping track of which bow styles actually translate to real life.

That bow button cardigan from Dillard’s paired with wide-leg jeans is such a smart combo—I’ve been hesitant about the trend because I don’t want to look like I’m headed to a tea party with stuffed animals. The structured denim really balances out the sweetness and makes it feel office-appropriate instead of juvenile.

I’ve been saving so many outfit screenshots lately to recreate later, and I’ve actually been using HappyHorse (HappyHorse) to keep track of the specific pieces and styling notes. Way easier than scrolling through my camera roll every morning.

  10. That bow button cardigan from Dillard’s paired with wide-leg jeans is such a smart combo—I was worried about looking too juvenile but the structured silhouette really balances it out. Also love the tip about slim hair ribbons feeling more sophisticated than chunky bows, definitely trying that.

Btw I’ve been using AI Muse Video (AI Muse Video) to put together quick outfit inspiration clips lately, super handy for visualizing different styling combos before committing to them.

  11. This post is so timely! I’m seeing bows everywhere too, and I love how you’ve styled them without looking overly saccharine. It’s truly an art to incorporate trends like this gracefully. Speaking of incorporating things gracefully, I’ve been using this tool for image conversions for my design projects, especially when I need to quickly switch image formats without uploading them anywhere. Thanks for the great inspiration!

The idea of tying a bow on a blazer sleeve is clever, but I’d worry about it looking too bulky. I’ve been trying to describe outfit details for my fashion blog, and using something like SpeechGen AI to turn my notes into voiceovers has made editing way easier.

  14. I love how creamy this ricotta turned out—lemon juice really makes a difference. I’m trying to document my own kitchen experiments too, but for video tutorials I’ve been using the Seedance 2.5 AI video guide to help streamline the process. Have you tried using vinegar instead of lemon for a tangier flavor?https://www.seedance2ai.io/
