How to Style Matching Lounge Sets

Matching sets are still so popular, so let’s talk about how to style them. There are some sets that are great for staying at home, and others are great for going out. Here are a few of my favorites and some easy ways to style them.

Matching sets became popular about five years ago, especially during 2020 when we were all at home. They’ve continued to stay popular the last few years, and they’re a great option for staying at home when you want to get out of your pajamas but still be super comfy. But you can also wear them out and about for running errands or for everyday!

Let me show you a few of my favorite matching sets, and a few ideas for wearing them outside the house.

Which lounge sets are better for staying in?

I think sweater sets are the best for staying in. They’re the most casual, and typically look the most like pajamas. You’ll see me wearing them above with socks, and that’s cause I’m not really wearing these out and about with sneakers or flats.

Which matching set is the best for wearing out?

Without a doubt, the SPANX set. It’s the best fabric, has great structure so it won’t sag or stretch out, and is so buttery soft and comfortable. This is my go-to for travel, but also can be dressed up a bit. Check out my outfit above with the copper flats and layered button up shirt! It’s perfect for even the office.

The best way to style matching sets for everyday

Typically I’d recommend sticking with sneakers and casual accessories when styling a matching set. You could throw on a casual jacket or basic wool coat and a baseball hat or beanie during the winter, and you’ve got a great casual, comfy outfit. I hope the outfits above give you some inspiration!
