This year Philip and I have gotten better about regular date nights. In the first year after our babies are born, we always get out of the habit because it’s really hard to get away with a little baby, but now that Sanny’s almost a year and a half, we’re back in a better routine.

We usually only go out to eat and walk around downtown or drive around somewhere, but it feels good to just be together and talk, uninterrupted.

Since our dates are pretty casual most of the time, we don’t get too dressed up, but we both like to wear something nice for each other. My go-to is jeans and a cute top, or a simple dress. This dress is so pretty with its leotard style bodice, and it has pockets!

I get questions about what to buy husbands/boyfriends sometimes, and a short sleeve button down shirt is a perfect year round option. In summer it’s great with shorts, and in cooler weather it’s great under a jacket. Philip just recently picked up a few new casual shirts from Nordstrom. He’s specifically loving short sleeve button down shirts, and they have tons of those right now in great patterns and cuts and prices.
