My Favorite Summer Purchases

As summer break comes to a close and my kids go back to school, I want to share a few of my favorite summer purchases, from makeup to clothing to home items.

My kids go back to school in just over a week! I’m not quite ready for summer break to be over, but I’ve been trying to soak up these last few days of a more relaxed schedule, and having my kids home all day. But also I wanted to share a few favorite purchases from this summer, things that I picked up and have absolutely loved.

My Favorite Summer Purchases

Red Greta Flats. Red is a really popular color for summer and into fall this year. It was big last year, and dare I say it’s even bigger this year? I found these bold red ballet flats, and I’ve been wearing them all the time. They’re a great little pop of color with any outfit! You’ll see me style them in a ton of ways over the next few months. They’re true to size – I wear my normal size 8.

Miranda Frye Bracelets. I was familiar with Miranda Frye jewelry before this summer, but I finally picked up a few pieces a couple of months ago and they’ve quickly become my most worn and favorite jewelry. Cakes covers. This was one of my most used products during the summer! They’re little silicone pads that you can use in place of a bra, or to wear underneath your swimsuit. I’ve tried another kind that was sticky and it practically ripped my nipples off when I took them off at the end of the day, so I was thrilled to see that these adhere to your skin with your body heat. They stay on all day, but peel right off without any stickiness. I’ve been using them in place of those stupid removable pads in swimsuits, and they even passed the waterslide test…they didn’t move at all! I think my code is MERRICK for a discount.

Pink Anthropologie Glasses. protein ice cream from the Ninja CreamiI bought these at the beginning of the summer and they are such spectacularly gorgeous glasses that I love using for Sunday dinners, or filling with for an after dinner treat.

On Cloudmonster Running Shoes. I needed a new pair of running shoes, and I found this pair at the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. They’re no longer on sale, but I have LOVED them. They’re so bouncy and great for running, with fantastic fit and support. Definitely recommend! I went up a half size to an 8.5.

Athletic Skort. I’ve talked about this skort so many times over the past few months – it’s been one of my go-to pieces for hot weather! You can wear it with a tank or a tee or a bodysuit or a blouse, and it’s lightweight, moisture wicking, and so comfy. I wear a size small. CLICK HERE for a few outfit ideas for wearing it!

Old Navy Green Lightweight Pants. I bought these this summer and immediately fell in love! They’re SO comfortable and lightweight, like it feels like you’re not even wearing pants! They come in a few different colors and would be great for a casual day at the office, an easy mom outfit, or a teacher outfit! I wear a size XS.

Giant Waterproof Pool Bag. I’ve been wanting a giant waterproof pool bag, and finally got one this summer. This is the Simple Modern brand, not the Bogg Bag, and after sharing about it, several people told me they tried both brands and prefer the Simple Modern brand, especially because of the handles. I have LOVED mine as a giant bag that fits all our towels and lunches and essentials for the pool or the waterpark.

Striped Button Up Shirt. This cute shirt from Target has become a summer staple. It feels and looks way more expensive than $16, and I have worn it with dress pants, jeans, skirts, and shorts! I wear a size XS.

Moonlight Pajamas in Short Sleeve Crop. If you’re looking for a great pair of pajamas, I highly recommend this brand. They’re insanely soft, super comfortable, and lightweight enough to even wear in the summer! I find that pretty much all short sleeve pajama sets come with short shorts, and I love that these come with a cropped pant instead. They also have a long sleeve and long pant version, if you’re looking for a fall and winter pajama! I don’t love tight pajamas, so I size up to a size small for a little looser pants.

Sealed Snack Container (set of 4). I have been bringing this little snack container to the waterpark every week, and it has been the best! It fully seals, so I can put cottage cheese or anything else liquid inside of the compartments, and it doesn’t leak AT ALL. It’s the perfect size for a snack for kids, or a lunch for me. My kids will be using it for the school year too when they’re packing their lunch — it’s perfect for fruit or veggies with a dip, or just a compartment for each part of their meal.

Lip stain in “double wind”. I bought this lip stain a few weeks ago, and I’m obsessed. Most lipsticks come off after an hour or so, but this one is a stain so it stays on all day! I just add a little lip gloss over the top. I don’t want it too dark, so I just add one very light layer and it gives me just enough color.

Long full skirt. I shared this skirt in my Teacher Outfits Roundup a few weeks ago, and you guys went WILD for it! It’s perfect for summer into fall. Wear it now with flats and sandals and sneakers, and in fall with boots and sweaters. I wear a size XS.

Running Shorts. These shorts from Amazon are super affordable and so comfy! I wear mine almost everyday to exercise, and I love the high rise and sturdy material. They also have a zipper pocket on one side, and a built in brief. I wear a size small.

No Color Makeup Powder. My friend, Leanne, has raved about this for years, and I finally picked up a container of it. It’s a clear setting powder for your makeup, and it’s been a game changer for keeping my makeup in place during the summer humidity.
