Since we’re all staying at home more often, here are some favorite, comfy clothes closet staples.

Looking for some comfortable closet essentials?

We all need closet basics, but right now we definitely need comfy closet essentials. Since we’re staying home more, working from home, and living for comfy clothes, you’ll love these comfortable closet essentials.

I’ve rounded up twelve of my favorite comfortable closet essentials below — check them out!

1. Cream mock neck sweater

This sweater is comfortable and easy to wear, comes in a few colors, and is easy to dress down with leggings and a baseball cap, or up with a pair of jeans and earrings, or even for work with a pair of dress pants and heels. Super versatile! It’s the one I’m wearing in the picture at the top of this post.

2. Low cut socks

I live in socks during the winter, and these are my favorite everyday socks. They’re called “no show,” but they definitely aren’t low enough for me to wear with sneakers (I shared my favorite true no-show socks here). But I wear them for running, sleeping, walking around the house, and under ankle and tall boots. They’re THE BEST.

3. Striped long sleeve tee

This is the perfect layering tee! Great for underneath sweaters for a peek of stripes at the wrist or the waist, or great under an open front jacket, or just by itself tucked into jeans. It’s SUPER soft, and crazy stretchy.

4. Black joggers

These black joggers are so comfortable, so flattering, and great for lounging or dressing up a bit with a jacket and sneakers for the weekend.

5. Black leggings

I’ve raved about these black leggings for years! They’re super soft and stretchy, and a brushed fabric so they’re great for everyday wear (they aren’t that slippery material like some yoga pants). I recommend sizing down! I’ve had mine for 3 years and they still look brand new.

6. Black Levi’s jeans

I’ve owned a lot of pairs of jeans in my lifetime, and these are some of the very softest. I have them in black and in white. Just look at the reviews!

7. Henley top

This is one of my favorite everyday tops. It’s super soft, super stretchy, and looks like you made some effort even though you just threw on a comfy tee.

8. Black bodysuit

I’ve been looking for a good black bodysuit for a long time and this one is fantastic. I love that it has the option for a thong bottom or brief bottom, since a lot of you are scared of the thong bottom bodysuits. It’s super stretchy, and great with skirts, jeans, or under overalls and jumpers! Use code MERRICK15 for 15% off (the code is for new users only, so if you already have an account with them, use a different email address).

9. White sneakers

These are the best white sneakers ever to be created. They feel like you’re walking on clouds! They’re expensive, but I promise your feet will love you, whether you’re walking around the neighborhood, at the park with your kids, traveling, or sitting at your desk.

10. Green hoodie

I bought this hoodie a few months ago as part of a loungewear set, but I’ve been wearing the hoodie nonstop with other things! It looks so cute with leggings and slippers at home, jeans and a baseball cap for the weekend, or with the matching joggers for lounging.

11. Mott and Bow jeans

If you’re looking for a comfortable pair of jeans, these Mott and Bow jeans are super soft, lightweight, and comfy. Definitely recommend. They come in different washes, rises, and lengths, so there’s something for everyone.

12. Gray henley dress

It may be a little cold for dresses still where you live, but this is one of my most comfortable dresses. It’s flowy, made of the most luxurious rayon spandex material, not see through, and super good quality.

I’m working on some other comfy clothes help!

I hope this list is helpful as we all try to create a closet that works better for this crazy life that we’re living these days.

Also, I’m thinking about doing an entire comfort/stay-at-home capsule wardrobe this spring — thoughts on that?? Let me know in the comments (or over on Instagram) if you’d be interested in a capsule wardrobe/style guide like that!
