Hi everyone, I’m Laura and I’m Merrick’s right-hand girl over here on the blog. I’m sharing my favorite budget pieces from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. I’ll be honest, my closet is already pretty full of good basics, so I was looking for some trendier and better than basic pieces to add to my closet. Because of this, I didn’t want to spend a ton of money on anything too trendy, so you’ll see all my picks are under $100.

Also, since Merrick and I have different body types, I thought it’d be helpful to share a try-on of these pieces over on Merrick’s Instagram Stories today. So you can compare my notes about fit to your own body, here are some stats:

The Best Trendy + Budget Picks from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale

1. BLANKNYC Leather Jacket

I’ll be honest, I was super interested in another olive green leather jacket in the sale, but it was a little pricey for something that isn’t a closet staple. I opted for this budget-friendly pick under $60 instead and love it. I did size up to a large, as I have broad shoulders and knew this was a fitted cut of jacket.

2. Zella Live-In Leggings

Classic black leggings are a staple – and all my black leggings were very athletic looking. I ordered a medium and they are the perfect fit and length. I, unfortunately, didn’t order any other bottoms, and none of the jeans in the sale offered tall sizes.

3. Corduroy Shirt Jacket

Shirt jackets are very “in” right now, and I’ve been looking for a good corduroy one for months. I actually ordered this one in both colors (I’m planning on just keeping one) and will ask you all what you think on stories today. This fits very oversized and I’ll be exchanging to size down to a small.

4. PMD Facial Cleanser Device

I’ve actually had this device for a few months now, but was thrilled to see it in the sale! It’s makes my face feel squeaky clean without any harsh exfoliators.

5. Nordstorm Cubic Zirconia Earrings

Definitely a basic piece, but also a budget pick because they look SO real. I always have earrings in, and diamond studs are my favorite, everyday pick.

6. BP Sweater

Merrick also shared this sweater, and it’s so good. Under $20, comes in three colors and fits great. I ordered my usual medium and am happy with the sizing.

7. Steven Madden Boots

Ok, hear me out – I know these boots look so chunky in the picture but they’re gorgeous in person and on. They’re a soft suede with a stretchy, ribbed cloth around the ankle. Yes, the heel adds a bit of height to my already tall frame, but I love them. Can’t wait to wear them all fall and winter! I ordered my usual size 10 and they fit great.

8. Bauble Bar Earrings

Such a pretty and unique earring at a great price. I can’t wait to dress these up and down.
