Today Philip went back to work. We’re all majorly bummed to not have him around the house all day everyday, but these last ten days have been so fun and we’ve packed in as many adventures as possible.
We all got horribly sick (including an ear infection for Peanut, and pink eye for both him and me), and we had many, many rough nights with a house full of sickies, but it didn’t stop us from having a fantastic break, even if we coughed and sniffed our way through it.
Here are a few things we did.
aquarium of the pacific
sugar cookie decorating (recipe here and here)
balboa island
I love the christmas lights on that house!
Wow, what an adorable family! Your photo with the shark is so cute! 😀 Happy new year!
Love your fun pictures! I am in depression about going back to school, too. Christmas is too short. 🙁
Lovely! You visited some of my favorite places! I, too, have been mourning the end of Christmas break. My husband is back to work and Kiddo is back to school today. It's just not the same around here…our little bubble has burst! I will be counting down the days until summer vacation.
My youngest just got over pink eye that he got from his Aunt. Its terrible when a 3 month old has it! Thankfully I didnt catch it. California looks beautiful, I'm jealous you can spend Christmas at the beach.
The first picture is super pretty! The 3rd picture – wow! Those people go all out with decorating! Your son(?) hugging a penguin is so cute!
How fun! Lovely Family. Just beautiful! 🙂 <3
Looks like a really amazing Christmas Break, despite all the sickness. I want to hug a penguin! What a lucky boy!
Hope everyone is feeling better!
Hope everyone is well now! Looks like you had a really great time. Happy New Year!
Beautiful photos! You already have me dreaming of the summer… It's snowy, cold, and dreary in Chicago! Glad you and your family had a good time 🙂
Looks like a fantastic week! Glad you got in lots of fun even with getting sick. It's so hard to return to normal life after such great time off.
Such great photos, I love that one with the shark! He looks so scary!!

I had pink eye about five years ago and it was so miserable. At least you don't wear contacts, I guess. . .
Hope everyone is back to health!
I love Naples!! My grandma moved there in the 60's, and we still have her condo there. Love visiting, wandering around the canals looking at houses, and eating/shopping on 2nd street in Belmont Shore. It's nice to rent kayaks and paddle around the island, too.
Looks like you had an amazing two weeks! (aside from everyone being sick)

I have to say, it's weird to see a blogger in my hood! I don't live that far away from the Aquarium of the Pacific and I, thankfully, made it to Naples and saw the same Griswold House! Enjoy Southern California!

Looks pretty miserable! I'm glad you're liking your new home!
That sounds like an awesome break! Isn't Naples awesome, I've only gone once (2 christmas's ago) and just loved it. Venice Canals is a little similar but so pretty to walk in the Spring time (just a little suggestion) Have a Happy New Year!
Oh and "Where did peanut hug a Penguin?" Because I want to take my son there! Was it at the Aqaurium?
Cute pictures! I'm dying over the one of your son hugging a penguin. Also, if I could eat fish tacos for every meal, I WOULD. Have you tried Del Taco's? They're cheap and delicious. 🙂
You look like you had a lot of fun even though you were sick. I like the shark picture. I'm afraid of heights and have similar facial expressions when I'm scared.
http://scrapandrun.blogspot.com/2012/06/414.html Scroll down to the picture where I'm covering my face. That is how I spent most of that boat ride.
Looks like you all had a great time. Happy New Year!
I really need to take a page out of your book and learn to always have a camera handy. Looking at the pictures afterward makes a time that much more memorable. I had to laugh because the two hats that Philip wears in these pictures are almost identical to the only two hats Michael has ever owned – Longhorns and the Cougars.
Go you for taking a picture near that shark! I'm deathly afraid of birds, so the next picture of Peanut hugging a penguin FREAKS ME OUT…even though Peanut looks adorable doing it.
