Over the summer I attended a Fabric Weekend in LA with a bunch of apparel seamstresses. I wrote a tiny bit about it here. For two days we shopped the LA fabric district and at Mood, ate really good food (like bacon wrapped hotdogs from a street cart), and had a total blast hanging out with like-minded women (baby Buck was the only man there… ;))
In fact, while I’m mentioning it, let me share a couple of photos from the weekend, since I never did (and I took a bazillion).
Anyway, while we were shopping at Mood, a few of us came across some amazing abstract floral knit, and we decided to give ourselves a bit of a challenge — everyone gets one yard, and we all make something fabulous. So today is our day to share our projects with you!

I went back and forth with my fabric, and finally decided on a midi pencil skirt. It took a little trial and error, and a bunch of alterations at the end to get the perfect fit, but I’m thrilled with how it came out. I styled it with my favorite chambray and a knitted infinity scarf to make it feel a little more fall-ish.
Now hop on over to everyone else’s blogs and see what they did with their one yard!
(leanne just moved so she’ll be sharing her project later…but still check out her amazing blog!
