TRIBAL PRINTS & STACKS OF FABRIC

Sorry — horribly grainy photo, but at least you can see the whole outfit
tunic: c/o the impeccable pig // leggings: target // purse: c/o persunmall // shoes: old navy (not online — check your local store) // necklace: c/o lisa leonard // bracelets: c/o the impeccable pig, c/o poshlocket // watch: michael kors // lips: maybelline “are you red-dy”
If you follow me on Instagram, your feed was probably bombarded with all my Fabric Weekend photos. But if you weren’t following along, here’s what went down…a group of 20 or so sewing bloggers all met together in LA and fabric shopped until we almost literally dropped. With stops at Michael Levine, Mood, Angel Textiles, and of course Michael Levine Loft (where fabric scraps are sold super cheap by the pound — and a lot of digging through bins is required), I came home with the mother load. If posts suddenly stop completely, it’s because I’m holed up in my office, sewing like a mad woman (or just petting all my fabulous and luxurious fabrics).
Oh, and I wore this outfit to Girls Night Out on Saturday night, which was held at Industriel Farm in downtown LA. Fabulous food, amazing women, and more fabric shopping than I thought was possible in two days, made for one of the funnest weekends ever. I took a bazillion pictures, so stay tuned for a complete post about Fabric Weekend 2013, and then lots and lots of fun projects and tutorials!

This sounds so fun and I think you picked the best shopping outfit. I'm excited to see what you make, and have fun petting your fabric. 🙂

I love this dress! That print is super complex I guess. Haha, I didn't want to say cute because that doesn't even begin to describe it.

I always get jealous when you are wearing something from a boutique based in America, none of them ever ship to NZ =(

  12. I would love to know how you apply your lipstick. I always feel that my color is too saturated when I use it but you make it look well blended and even. Love your blog!

    • I usually only apply on my upper lip, and then rub my lips together to apply the color to the bottom lip. Then I fill it in as needed. I also like to add a layer of vaseline over the top to make the color a little shinier, which I think makes lipstick look more youthful.

      Hope that helps!
