The Formula for Two Classic Party Looks

The holidays are basically upon us and with lots of (or at least a few) events and parties that I’m sure you have on your calendar, it’s time to start planning those outfits.

First up, casual. For any casual holiday party, the perfect formula is jeans, heels, and a nice top. The level of casualness of your event determines which jeans, heels, and top I choose. If it’s super casual, choose a pair of distressed denim, a plaid button up shirt, and heeled ankle boots. If it’s more dressy casual, pick a nicer blouse (I love this one cause it’s not overtly festive…and duh, velvet for the holidays is a no brainer),  non-distressed denim (I did black denim but you could do a dark blue or even coated denim), and stilettos, like I did here. Add a red lip for a little extra festive look.

For dressier events, the perfect formula is a dress and heels. Again, I choose the style of dress and heels based on the level of dress code. For a more casual dressy look, pick a dress with a pretty print on the fabric like this one or this one and pair it with nice heeled boots. For cocktail events, choose a solid color dress like this one and pair with stilettos.
