I’ve had a lot of issues with my skin over the years, and I finally found a bb cream for acne prone skin that doesn’t make you break out or clog your pores!

Over the last few months I’ve opened up a lot about my skin issues. I’ve had acne prone skin since I turned fifteen, and it’s been a roller coaster since then through puberty, three pregnancies, three years of breastfeeding, and hormonal imbalance after I stopped breastfeeding. Truly a roller coaster.

Finding a BB Cream that covers up acne but doesn’t make it worse is actually possible!

One of the hardest thing about acne is that you want to cover it up, but often the beauty products perpetuate the issue.

I tried so many different concealers, foundations, BB creams, and tinted moisturizers, until I landed on Jane Iredale makeup.

Today I’ve teamed up with Nordstrom to tell you all about it.

These are a few reasons I love Jane Iredale BB Cream:

  • it doesn’t cake or crack over blemishes
  • it’s very pigmented so it provides great coverage without being heavy
  • it doesn’t clog my pores at all
  • it’s super lightweight, and doesn’t feel like you have foundation on at all
  • the combination of the BB cream and powder is amazing, with amazing coverage and a perfect slightly matte finish
  • if I do cover up a blemish with the BB cream, it doesn’t make it more irritated or inflamed at all

This makeup brand was recommended by my esthetician

My esthetician recommended Jane Iredale products, because it’s a line that she had personally been using for years, and it’s made with clean ingredients that actually help your skin. They call it “the skincare makeup” for good reason.

In fact, after using it for about six months, I went back to visit my esthetician and she said my skin had completely changed.

During my last visit she’d spent nearly an hour doing extractions on all my clogged pores, but this next visit only needed a handful of extractions.

I love that this makeup is available at Nordstrom with free shipping!

When I first went to look for it, I checked out Nordstrom’s beauty section. But after asking a Nordstrom employee, I discovered they sell it exclusively in the Nordstrom spa!

So the first time I went, I got color matched with BB7 for the BB cream, and Golden Glow for the powder. They said that golden glow is a great powder that compliments many of the BB creams.

I shop at Nordstrom all the time, so I love that while I’m shopping online I’m able to grab my makeup, toss it into my online cart, and have it within a few days with completely free shipping (and free returns!)

My results after using this BB Cream for over a year

Since switching to this BB cream, I can’t even tell you the difference I’ve seen in my skin. No clogged pores, no irritation, and I feel like my skin looks healthier than it has in years.

OF COURSE I still have breakouts, especially at that time of the month, but I feel like I’ve found a BB Cream that doesn’t perpetuate the issue, and covers blemishes up so well.

Answers to a few other questions…

I put the primer and the bb cream on with my fingers. I wash my hands thoroughly before, obviously, and then spread the primer evenly across my face.

For the bb cream, I spread it roughly with my fingers and then use a foundation brush to smooth it. I’ve used a beauty blender before, and although I do like it, I find that I get better coverage with a brush. Less transfers onto the applicator.

I apply the foundation with a big fluffy brush, like this one.

I shared exactly how I used all three Jane Iredale products (the primer, BB cream, and foundation powder) in my 5 minute makeup video right here, but if you have other questions leave a comment below!

I love BB creams. If my breakouts are not so bad, I can just wear a BB cream and they’re all mostly covered. Thanks for this recommendation, especially for us suffering from breakouts.

Can we use bb cream for full coverage?
