Capsule wardrobes are a few set pieces that you can mix and match to make a bunch of different outfits. This mini summer capsule wardrobe is perfect for summer travel!
It’s time for a summer capsule wardrobe!
Back in February, I did my first mini capsule wardrobe. I’ve never been really interested in doing a full capsule wardrobe for an entire season, but a travel capsule wardrobe is less of a commitment and makes packing a breeze, so I opted for a mini capsule that would be perfect for trips.
After sharing that capsule wardrobe back in the spring, I had so many requests to do a summer capsule wardrobe, so here we are!
Also, please note that one of my pieces is a long sleeve tee, and before you freak out about heatstroke, just note that I haven’t replaced my striped short sleeve tee since last year. I need to get on that! I used this one as an alternative so you could catch the vision. But obviously, for summer, I recommend a short sleeve tee over a long sleeve tee.
These are the 11 pieces I put in my capsule wardrobe.
- Skirt (mine is made by me, tutorial HERE, similar skirt HERE)
- Shorts (mine are old, similar HERE)
- White Jeans
This is how I chose which pieces to put in my capsule wardrobe
The key to choosing which pieces to put in your capsule wardrobe is to select pieces that can be worn in multiple ways and pieces that are in the same general color families. You don’t have to keep it neutral — throw in some fun color, or do the entire capsule in bright colors if you’d like!
I chose white, gray, and black for my main colors for this capsule. In the spring I chose navy, forest green, and cream. Choose whatever you want, but pick colors and prints that all flow well together. This will give you the most outfit options!
These are the 12 outfits I made with these pieces.
There are more than 12 outfits you could do with these pieces, but these are the most different combinations.
