I used to totally be a bag kind of girl — I splurged on expensive purses from time to time, and I had a lot of different bags. I still own most of them, but really there are only three summer bags that I use anymore.
They’re all cute, functional, and versatile. Everything I look for in a bag, and more.
My three most used summer bags
1. Madewell crossbody bag
I finally splurged on this bag last spring and it instantly became a favorite. I own the larger Madewell TOTE BAG, but I needed something a little smaller for everyday.
This one is big enough to hold my essentials, and I love that it’s casual enough for being with my kids, but nice enough to carry on date night.
2. Freshly Picked Mini Backpack
When I hear “mini backpack” I think of those tiny backpacks everyone used to carry in the 90s. This one from FRESHLY PICKED is far from that, and super chic. It’s the one I’m wearing above.
I also own the larger FRESHLY PICKED BACKPACK, and it’s amazing for travel and for tiny kids when you need to tote around the whole house, but this smaller one is perfect for everyday and older kids.
It’s big enough to carry a water bottle or two, snacks, my wallet and keys, my phone, and other small essentials.

3. Logan + Leonora Daytripper Tote for the Pool
This is the perfect beach/pool bag. It’s BIG but not massive. It holds water bottles, snacks, goggles, beach toys, plus has two waterproof zippered pockets.
The material is so sturdy, and I love that the straps are so comfortable.
It comes in a few different colors, and is the kind of bag that will stay classic and in good shape for YEARS. Also I get comments and compliments on it everywhere I go because it’s just so pretty.

Environmental friendliness of the material is very important to me. Undoubtedly, the leather bag looks presentable and will last a long time. But if you need a simple and stylish thing for every day, I recommend taking a closer look at canvas products.
