Marco Island honestly looks like one of those places that surprises people once they visit it in person. Most people expect just another Florida beach town, but the boating culture, waterfront neighborhoods, sunsets, and quieter atmosphere compared to bigger tourist areas make it really unique.
One thing I noticed while researching the area is how different each part of the island feels — some areas are more beach-focused while others are built around boating and canal access. It’s easy to see why so many people end up buying second homes or retiring there after visiting once.
