Every since I started sewing (when I was 10 or 11), I’ve had a distaste for store bought patterns. I remember going to the fabric store with my mom to pick out my next project and flipping through page after page of the pattern books and mostly finding frumpy options. Fast forward to 2014 and although there are still those same not-so-great options at the fabric store, there are tons of amazing patterns around the internet. You just have to know where to look.

Enter Indiesew.

They’re a brand new website that is filled with independent designer’s patterns, including tops, cardigans, bags, skirts, swimwear, pants, dresses and more. Take one look through their pattern shop and you’ll realize it’s a whole new world — clothes you actually want to make and wear!

Today I’m teaming up with Indiesew to share a few of their brand new patterns for Fall and to give away their Fall Collections pattern bundle — six amazing patterns (three of which I’m wearing here)! I almost always make my own patterns, but if you’re just learning how to sew, a real pattern is really crucial to learning how to make your own clothing, so this is a great opportunity if you want to start making your own clothing!

This giveaway will close on September 7th at 10pm MST, and the winner will be announced on Indiesew’s blog on the 8th. Good luck!

  7. How is it that you always look stunning in casual outfits (especially the 2nd)? I swear, if I tried to wear the same outfits, I’d look like a hot mess. Love these looks!

  8. Rachel says:

Love these outfits, you look great (as usual)!! I have only tried to use patterns once and it was a serious mess! After that, I swore off store bought patterns 🙂
But I guess, I really should try again, especially because I stay away from making tight clothes with non stretch fabrics!! So I guess the question I should ask — are these patterns easy to alter (especially for a full bust)? I do not know how to do that so maybe that’s why I failed the last time I tried!!
