My boys are super casual dressers. No trendy layers for them — I can hardly get them to wear pants sometimes…shorts forever.
But as we head into fall and winter, there are a few wardrobe essentials that I stock their closet with so they look cute, they’re dressed for the weather, and they still feel comfy. So I’m teaming up with Rack Room Shoes to share them.
- Boots. We love a good pair of shoes around here, and Rack Room Shoes has some of the best deals on name brand shoes. I picked up these cute fall boots for the boys, but if you need cold weather boots, Rack Room has some good deals on those as well!
- Flannel. My boys are total t-shirt kids, so it’s hard to find long sleeve shirts they’ll wear and not complain about. I’ve found that flannel is one kind of shirt they actually love wearing cause it’s super soft, and not a bit stiff or “scratchy.”
- Chinos or Skinny Jeans. Like I said, my boys would way rather wear shorts all year long, but sometimes I make them wear pants. A pair of dark jeans or chino pants in a slim or skinny fit can be dressed up or dressed down, and I try to find brands that have a soft material that feels aaalmost like their pajama pants. They’re not totally convinced, but I’m trying.
And of course for me, I’m not hard to convince to wear anything! But for these warmer fall days, I’m loving a lightweight dress with a plaid shirt tied around the waist, and then a cute pair of ankle boots like these lace up ones from Rack Room Shoes.
