Easter is early this year and coming up in only four weeks! So today I teamed up with World Market to share a super easy and beautiful table scape. I love a beautiful table and think it makes my dinner that much better, so I always try to make a little effort to make it special and pretty. Here’s a few ideas to get your table ready for Easter:
1. Fresh flowers. There’s nothing that brightens up a table like a vase (or three!) of fresh flowers. If my table scape is colorful, I keep the flowers neutral, like these white hydrangeas and blush roses. But if my tablescape is more neutral, I love adding a pop of color with some bright blooms. Also, if I’m not in the mood or running out of time to bake something, store bought cupcakes are instantly prettier and personalized if you stick some fresh flowers in them.
2. Make it your own with a DIY project. I love adding something handmade to my table because it makes it unique and puts a little personal stamp on it. When I was coming up with ideas for
my Easter table, I wanted something springy and fresh, but not overly pastel or Easter. I’ve been crazy about gingham this spring, so I had the idea to paint some white placemats with a simple gingham pattern. I’m sharing the easy DIY below!
3. Try some fresh fruit. Especially for spring, fresh fruit is so beautiful and colorful and instantly adds life to your table. I chose lemons because I love a yellow and blue color combo.
4. Ground it with earthy tones. A colorful or bright white table scape can be so gorgeous, but adding some earthy neutrals really helps the colors or whites pop, and adds depth. I added some with these darling bunny napkin rings and nests (they also have these cute ones for slightly cheaper!) from World Market. The eggs are (I think) from pottery barn last year, but I also think Jordan Almonds would be so cute inside the nests!
The gingham placemats are so easy to make — click READ MORE below to find the easy step by step tutorial!
Materials:
White placemats (I used these ones)
Blue silkscreen ink (I have this starter pack and used the blue in there)
Water
Iron
Step 1. Lay your placemats on a flat, waterproof surface.
Step 2. In a plastic cup or plate, mix a little ink with water until it’s nice and runny. I wanted mine to look like watercolors, so I added a good amount of water. Then use your paintbrush and draw horizontal lines across the entire placemat. I did 5 horizontal stripes about 2 inches apart each.
Step 3. Once the horizontal stripes are completely dry (it shouldn’t take long), go back and do the vertical stripes. I did 4 vertical stripes about 3 inches apart each.
Step 4. After all your placemats are completely dry, use your iron to heat seal the paint. Just press for a few seconds on the hottest setting your fabric will allow.
And that’s it!
Your holiday tables are always so beautiful! I just love looking at all the pictures.
I love your table! What are you wearing? I am pregnant too and love that dress:)
It’s a dress from Forever21 last year. Sadly it’s not maternity and I BARELY fit in it…pretty much my entire closet is unavailable at the moment 😉 Sorry to not be more help!
i never thought of simply placing lemons around the table could be so decorative! great idea

Hey what are you wearing?! Such a cute dress, maternity or non.
it’s non-maternity Forever21, but not available anymore — sorry!
Excellent table setting, everything looks just fabulous. When I was preparing a table for such events or just wanted to have a nice romantic evening I used something similar in addition to stylish candles on storehttps://www.apsleyaustralia.com/collections/candles. Surprisingly, the candles create the right atmosphere in the evening
