I absolutely love this outfit. This better than basic skirt is super versatile – I wear it with tees, bodysuits, blouses, and button ups, so it can be casual or more dressy. I added a belt to give a little more elevation, then some loafers that are classic, but a little more better than basic with a modern lug sole.

Better than Basic top and Tiered Midi Skirt
This cute colorful top with flutter sleeves is perfect as a better than basic top. For work, pairing it with a tiered midi skirt and ankle strap heels makes for a fun and summery outfit.

These are some of my favorite summer pants, because they’re super comfortable, stretchy, lightweight, and they’re great for dressing up or down! I paired with a better than basic lace top to add some interest, and then finished the look with classic and practical shoes and jewelry.

Linen pants and a short sleeve sweater
These linen pants are perfect for summer workwear! They’re super chic, are very breathable, and are fully lined so they aren’t see through. Hallelujah! I paired with a short sleeve tan sweater with lots of details that make it better than basic, then wore block heel sandals and classic jewelry. I love this monochromatic summer workwear look.

Breezy dress and linen blazer
A dress and a blazer makes a really good summer workwear combination. This dress adds a fun pop with a vibrant blue and white pattern, and then is a subdued a bit with a cream linen blazer. I also added a gold belt for a little better than basic pop, and some neutral shoes.

Pleated skirt and better than basic top
This may be my favorite of all the outfits! It’s chic, interesting, classy, and simple all at the same time. This top is a really great twist on a classic white button up, and the flutter sleeves and neckline make it better than basic. The skirt is a classic pleated style, and it’s in a better than basic color that makes the outfit feel interesting. I finished with classic accessories to make the skirt and top really pop.
