Today is a VERY exciting day because my third Merrick x Anthropologie collection is officially here!
If you’ve been following along for a while, you know how much these collaborations mean to me. Getting to work with the Anthropologie team to take ideas from my head and turn them into actual clothes that you can wear is still one of the coolest parts of my job.
For this collection, I wanted to create a really good mix of pieces. Some are easy everyday staples that you’ll reach for constantly, while others are those special pieces that instantly make an outfit feel more interesting. There are classic pants, beautiful dresses, statement outerwear, a great button-down, and a few pieces that I think are going to become major fall favorites.
And, of course, I designed everything with the way I actually get dressed in mind. I want clothes to feel easy, flattering, versatile, and wearable, but still have something special about them.
So let’s get into all 10 pieces!
The Merrick x Anthropologie Fall Collection
1. Corduroy Full-Length Colette Pants
The Colette pants are back, and this time we’re doing corduroy!
If you loved my original Colette pants, this is the same signature high-rise, wide-leg silhouette with a really beautiful fall update. The corduroy gives them a little more texture and makes them feel especially perfect for the cooler months.
They have the front and back patch pockets that make the Colette so recognizable, plus a full-length wide leg and a high rise. I love these with everything from a simple sweater and sneakers to a blouse and boots.
Basically, they’re the kind of pants that make getting dressed feel easy, but your outfit still looks really pulled together. They are a black floral corduroy with a cotton/modal/elastane fabrication.
2. Bubble Top
This top is one of those pieces that makes a simple outfit feel instantly more interesting.
The bubble silhouette gives it that little something extra without making it difficult to wear. It’s a button-front top with a really clean, simple shape, which means you can pair it with jeans, trousers, or, obviously, the Colette pants.
I love pieces like this because they do the styling work for you. Put on a pair of pants, add this top, and your outfit is basically done!
3. Greer Corduroy Shirtdress
A corduroy shirtdress felt like a total no-brainer for fall.
The Greer has a classic shirt collar and button-front design, but the side ruching gives it a more flattering, feminine shape. It’s a midi length with short sleeves, so you can wear it now with flats or sneakers and then transition it into colder weather with boots, tights, and a coat.
I especially love that it’s one of those dresses you can wear for so many different things. It’s casual enough for a daytime outing but can easily be dressed up for dinner.
The dress is made from a cotton/modal/elastane corduroy fabrication and has a slim shirtdress silhouette with side ruching.
4. Rudi Silken Buttondown Shirt
Okay, this is the button-down for people who want their button-down to feel a little more special.
The Rudi is made from a fluid, high-shine viscose fabrication, so it has that gorgeous silky look and drape. I added contrast piping along the chest pockets and placket, which gives it a little bit of structure and makes it feel more elevated than your basic button-down.
It’s relaxed, has dropped shoulders, long sleeves, and a classic pointed collar. And it’s actually a matching set with the coordinating pants, so you can wear them together for a really chic look or break them apart and style each piece separately.
5. Imara Funnel-Neck Coat
Every fall collection needs a really good coat, and this one might be my favorite.
The Imara is a gorgeous wine-colored coat with a funnel neckline, front zipper, and side pockets. It’s simple enough to wear constantly but has enough of a statement shape and color to make an outfit feel intentional.
I love a coat that can be thrown over basically anything. Jeans and a sweater? Yep. A dress? Absolutely. Your everyday leggings-and-sneakers outfit when you need to look like you tried? Also yes.
6. Somerset Chiffon Maxi Dress
This is the dress for your fall events, date nights, weddings, dinners, and basically any occasion where you want to feel a little fancy.
The Somerset has a beautiful black floral print, sheer chiffon fabrication, long sleeves, a split neckline, and a tiered maxi skirt. It feels romantic without being overly precious, which is exactly what I wanted.
And I love that you can change the entire feel of it depending on your shoes. Wear it with boots for fall, sandals for a warmer-weather event, or dress it up with heels for something more formal.
7. Faux-Suede Full-Length Colette Pants
And because apparently I can’t stop making Colette pants… we have faux suede!
These are another take on the Colette silhouette, this time in a gorgeous bark-colored faux suede.
They have that same high-rise, wide-leg shape and signature patch pockets, but the faux suede gives them a completely different feel. They’re soft, rich, and instantly make an outfit feel more elevated.
I would wear these with everything from a simple white tee and sneakers to a sweater and ankle boots. They are one of those pieces that look like you put way more effort into your outfit than you actually did, which is my favorite kind of clothing.
8. Brooklin Tie-Front Pull-On Pants
These are the pants for when you want to be comfortable but absolutely do not want to look like you’re wearing comfortable pants.
The Brooklin is a full-length, wide-leg pull-on pant with a drawstring tie waist and a beautiful blue pattern.
They’re made from 100% viscose, so they have a really fluid drape and move beautifully. The high rise and wide leg keep them looking polished, while the pull-on waist makes them incredibly easy to wear.
Wear them with the matching Rudi shirt for a full matching look, or pair them with a simple sweater or tee for something more casual. Anthropologie describes them as easy to dress up or down, and I completely agree.
9. Cropped Faux Fur Coat
Okay, this one is just FUN.
Every collection needs a piece that makes you immediately want to get dressed up, and that is this coat.
It’s a cropped faux fur coat in a gorgeous cheetah print with a front zipper and side pockets. The cropped length makes it really easy to wear with dresses and skirts, but I also love it with high-rise jeans or wide-leg pants.
This is absolutely the kind of piece that can turn a very simple outfit into a whole look. And because it’s a coat, you can throw it over the simplest outfit ever and suddenly you’re fancy.
10. Ruched Mesh Midi Dress
And we’re ending with a good one.
This green patterned midi dress is fitted through the body with a body-skimming silhouette and has long sleeves, a crew neckline, and a really beautiful printed mesh fabrication.
It’s one of those dresses that feels special enough for an event but doesn’t require a ton of styling. Add heels and jewelry for a dressier look, or pair it with boots and a coat for fall.
The mesh has a little bit of stretch, and the dress is fully lined, so you get that beautiful fitted look without it feeling completely unforgiving.
A Little Behind the Collection
One of my favorite parts of designing a collection is figuring out how all the pieces will actually live in a real wardrobe.
I don’t want to design 10 pretty things that only work one way. I want you to be able to buy one piece and immediately think of five different ways you can wear it.
That’s why this collection has so much variety. You have the everyday pants, the elevated button-down, the easy shirtdress, two very different statement coats, and several dresses that can take you from a regular fall day to a special occasion.
And I really wanted the collection to feel like me. Classic and wearable at the core, but with unexpected details, interesting textures, beautiful prints, and a little bit of fun.
