As part of my individual curriculum at school, I have been assigned to do an exact copy of a painting. After sitting down with my teacher, we determined that I would copy Gustav Klimt’s “Danae.”
There are two main reasons my teacher and I picked this painting to copy. One, I love Gustav Klimt. And two, and it has great composition (something I’m really working on learning).
Although I stretched my canvas and started drawing this probably three months ago, and although I have been getting up at the crack of dawn to draw/paint every morning, somehow I only started painting it this morning. Apparently at 6:30am folding the laundry and cleaning the house comes before painting. But now that is all out of the way, the painting has begun.
Except I forgot to take a picture of it. Well anyway, here’s the preliminary drawing:
Love Klimt. That suites you. Good luck!
P.S. I love the newspaper art. Would that I could afford to hire you to do one for me.
