8 mother's day gifts under $30

Mother’s Day is definitely a special holiday, and both you and your mama’s deserve something special. But with a mom and a mother in law and yourself, it can get pricey if we’re doing big gifts, right? Sometimes a heartfelt card is all you need. But if you’re looking for just a little something extra for yourself or your mom, here’s 8 gift ideas that will make her or you feel special without breaking the bank.

Rifle Paper Co. Notecards: $15

My mom is so good about sending notecards and thank you cards (I wish I was better)! These ones from Rifle Paper Co. are such pretty ones that she could add to her collection and send out for birthdays, thank you’s, or just because. (Speaking of Rifle Paper Co., did you see the dress I made with their fabric last week?)

MAC Lipstick: $15 (on sale right now!)

MAC is one of my very favorite lipstick brands, and right now they’re on sale for only $15! Perfect time to snag a couple for yourself, your mom, or even your sisters for Mother’s Day. My favorite colors are “Please Me” and “Brave” because they’re soft, neutral pinks, but honestly you can’t go wrong with any of their colors. I also shared a bunch of my favorite neutral lip colors in a post a few weeks ago — find it right here!

The Secret Keeper by Kate Morton: $10

My mom and mother in law are both big readers, so a good book is always a good gift option. The Kate Morton books are some of my absolute favorite books and I guarantee your mom would love them. I think she has five books out, but The Secret Keeper is the best, in my opinion!

Volcano Candle: $28

I think all women value having a home that smells really nice. So gifting yourself or your mom an amazing candle would be a perfect gift — and it’s the gift that keeps on giving!

Of all the candles out there, this “Volcano” one is the best ever. Ever, ever, ever. I bought one for my mom for Christmas and she loves it — it’s really fragrant, but not overbearing, and makes your house smell incredible. I also found this one for only $10 that I’ve bought a few times and it actually smells pretty similar, and I’ve heard amazing things about these candles, although I’ve never bought them.

Ring Dish: $10

These are insanely gorgeous, and since they’re only $10, it would be so pretty to get two or three to make her initials. I shared in my master closet reveal that I love using jewelry to decorate a closet, and these little dishes would be perfect to display those pretty rings and delicate pieces. They’d also make gorgeous night stand decor.

Neck Scarf: $10

Neck scarves are really trendy right now, but they’re also so classic and chic. My mom loves wearing hers tied around her neck with a white button up shirt and jeans, and I love wearing them with a t-shirt and jeans. There are so many fun and beautiful and classic neck scarves out there (lots of good, inexpensive choices here), and it would be fun to find one that fits your mom’s personality perfectly. I also love this one and this one, both of which are under $30!

Initial Necklace: $26

I have a simple gold pendant necklace with each of my boys’ initials on it (you can see it here). I get questions about it all the time, but the downside of the one I own is that they don’t sell the pendants individually — you have to buy a second entire necklace. I found this beautiful shop that sells almost identical ones, and you can buy individual charms! This would make a perfect gift — get one with her first initial, or each of her kids!

Rollerball Perfume: $18-30

My friend gave me one of these rollerball perfumes for Christmas a few years ago and I think it’s such a great idea. It’s a small-ish container of perfume that’s larger than a sample, but small enough to throw in your purse and take around with you (plus they have screw on lids so they don’t leak). They’re great for travel, running around during the day, or just a good way to try a new scent without having to commit to a full (and expensive) bottle. This scent has amazing ratings, but this one is always a good go-to if you’re not sure of which one to choose.
