4 Tips for Finding Amazing Clothing and Accessories on eBay

My top tips for finding amazing things on eBay are easier than you might think!

You know when you see something online that you must have, and then you find out that it’s five years old and long sold out? So annoying right? Or maybe something you love is out of your price range but you really want it.

Well that’s when eBay always saves the day. I swear you can find anything and everything on eBay if you know how to search.

I’ve been wanting a solid brown Madewell Leather Tote Bag for literally years, but just couldn’t ever pull the trigger. And then what do I find on eBay for a fraction of the original cost? A BRAND NEW MADEWELL TOTE with tags still on. Best day ever.

Let me show you my four tips for finding really great clothing and accessories on eBay.

Keep a running wishlist

This is my best trick for shopping. eBay has thousands and thousands of listings, and it can be overwhelming, so having a concrete wishlist is helpful to give you some shopping direction. If you’re in your closet tomorrow and realize you need a new pair of nude pumps, write it down so you remember when you’re ready to shop. I like to use the Notes app in my phone so I can reference the list from anywhere.

Refine your Search

Speaking of those thousands and thousands of listings, refining your search is the easiest way to find your perfect piece. You can search by size, style, condition, item location, and more so you don’t waste time scrolling through items that won’t work for your needs.

Search for your favorite brands or designers.

If you didn’t make a wishlist, and don’t know exactly what you’re looking for, just search your favorite brands. When I typed Anthropologie into the search engine on eBay, tons of pieces came up and I stumbled upon this floral dress I tried on in the store a few years ago and never bought. I wasn’t looking specifically for this dress, but searching for the brand helped me find a gem!

Take advantage of the Buy It Now option

eBay used to intimidate me because of the bidding, but now there’s an easy option to show only “Buy It Now” listings where no bidding is involved, and they’re shipped for free. Can’t beat that. Find this option it in the search refinements in the sidebar!

Using these tips I found the cutest lemon sweatshirt from Kate Spade Saturday, my Madewell Leather Tote, my Anthropologie floral dress, and these Soludos Sneakers I’ve been eyeing for months. All for a fraction of the original cost!
