Holiday parties are such a fun excuse to get dressed up every year. Both Philip and I attend dressy events throughout the year for work, but rarely do we get to attend one together. So of course I always jump at the chance to get a little fancy and go out with my guy.
I’ve shared a few holiday party style ideas this week (here and here), both of which are very dressy and glam looks. For this look, I kept it a little more simple with a basic red bodycon dress that I found at Nordstrom. The thing I love about this dress is that it’s a super versatile piece I can wear throughout the rest of the year. Throwing a blazer or vest over the top would change the look completely, or I could even dress it down with a denim jacket and ankle boots. Plus, it’s under $100 and comes in a ton of different colors!
Philip wears a suit to work every day, so to make things a little more festive, he threw on a bright red tie, and wore a french cuff shirt and cuff links for a slightly fancier look.

Speaking of men’s style, can we all agree that shopping for men is one of the harder tasks of the holidays? I always try to do a mix of sentimental, handmade, or service gifts (photobooks, planned out monthly dates, handmade art, etc), and store-bought gifts.
I’ve rounded up some of my favorites below, both things I’ve given my husband in the past, and a few that I plan to give him this year.

What a fun photosession for the two of you. I’m seeing people do “anniversary pictures” not just family pictures. That’s what this reminded me of. We went to Toys R Us last night and I kept joking with my husband that I should shop there for him not just the kids. THe Millenium falcon cufflinks reminded me of that because he was eyeing the Lego Millenium Falcon for himself (so I love the cuff link idea).
Oh, do it! It would be such a good grown up version of the Millenium Falcon toy 😉
