Adding Accessories to Your Outfits

simple gold layers to dress up an outfit

Outfit Details:

Circle Cardigan (gray color sold out, but other colors available here), Joe’s Jeans (on sale!), White Tee, Similar Ankle Boots, Lauren Conrad Crossbody Bag, Aviator Sunglasses, Lace Bralette

As you guys know, a lot of my outfits are very basic. A t-shirt and skinny jeans, a simple dress, a sweatshirt and boyfriend jeans — you guys know.  And while basics are great, they can often feel unfinished and plain.

…Cue the accessories!

Let’s talk about how to add accessories to your outfit to complete your look.

Delicate, gold jewelry is always my go-to. I combine chokers and pendant necklaces, bangles and little wrist chains, and stackable gold rings to add just that little sparkle.

[note: I collect all sorts of gold pieces, so all the ones I’m wearing are old, but I linked lots of good options below!]

Necklaces

Choose 2-3 necklaces of varying lengths and layer them together. My go to is a little gold choker, and a mid length pendant necklace. I’ve linked a few of my favorites below.

Bracelets

To keep the outfit from feeling overwhelmed, I stick to bracelets on only one wrist, and I keep them small and minimal. One larger cuff, or 2-3 smaller ones stacked like this one. Or I’ll do a watch and a couple of small gold bracelets. I’ve linked a few favorites below.

Rings

Save the statement rings for special occasions, but little delicate rings are my favorite for everyday wear. I love buying stacks of them and then splitting them up around my hands. I also love wearing tiny midi rings!

Earrings

I don’t wear earrings on a daily basis, but when I do, I wear either tiny studs with a few necklaces and rings, or a statement earring with just bracelets and rings.

You want a balance of accessories – don’t go overboard, especially for everyday wear!
