When we moved to California, about a year and a half ago, we knew that our time here wouldn’t be very long. My husband’s job requires a few more moves over the next five to ten years until they put us in a long term position, which just means more adventures for us. We’re okay with that. So although we have no idea when the promotion will come or where it will take us, we think it will probably come in the next year, so we’re taking advantage of our short time in California and trying to fit in as many fun local things as possible. Last week we sat down and wrote out a California Bucket List for our family, and we’ll slowly be checking them off so our weekends aren’t wasted!

This weekend we packed up early on Saturday morning and headed down to Exposition Park at USC where there is a cluster of museums. We’d been to the science center a few months ago, so this time we tried out the museum of natural history. Philip and I are both museum lovers, so we get a total thrill out of sharing our love of them with our babies, and watching them get excited about learning. Here’s a few snippets of our day.

^^this is pretty much how the whole day went. Benson reading every sign and exhibit, and Foster climbing on top of them.^^
^^ watching a video about gems and minerals — thrilling! ^^
^^ he was completely enthralled by all the stuffed animals ^^
^^ the baby chicks were his very favorite, and he spent about 10 minutes just watching and laughing at them ^^
 ^^ making a thumbprint fish together ^^

Next up on our California Bucket List is a day of traveling across Southern California on the train! We can’t wait!
