When I was searching for a black bridesmaid dress for Landen’s wedding back in August, I searched high and low on the internet (and in stores) to find something great. It’s a tough job to find black dresses in July, but also everything was so expensive and/or ugly and/or too long/too short.
After an extensive search, my sister, Janssen, recommended looking at eShakti, an online clothing website that specializes in personal alterations — basically, you can purchase any of their clothing items and then send in your exact measurements and have them make it to fit you perfectly. You can also change the sleeves, hemline, and neckline on almost all of their clothes. I’d never heard of it, but it sounded amazing! Immediately I found seven or eight dresses that I loved, and I ended up ordering this one in black. It was pretty and simple (but also kind of fun for a LBD), very reasonably priced, and I was able to have it altered to knee-length. It was absolutely perfect for the wedding, and I got tons of compliments on it.
I just received this purple dress in the mail from eShakti and again, it is the perfect fit. I had them add little capped sleeves, and now it’s a fun, interesting party dress that I can wear to all my holiday events this year. I was particularly impressed at the quality of the fabric, and all the details that are so well done. If you haven’t checked out their website, they have tons of beautiful fall and winter dresses that have just arrived!
FTC Disclosure: I was not compensated for this post, but the dress was provided by eShakti.
such a cute dress! love it.
Totally cute! I really like the color and you styled it great. Can't wait to see it in person 🙂
very nice! Their site is great, they have so many pretty things to choose from!
Hey Merrick, please tell me that you have to take at least 10-15 pictures of yourself before you find one where you look completely perfect, and that you only have to do minor editing? lol jk…you are so gorgeous girl, and your style is so amazing. I wish I had that kind of talent.
can you include a pic of the dress with the cap sleeve? i'm always curious how the customizations affect the overall look of the dress. Thanks!

Hi! I have been following your blog for a while and love it. You are so cute and very stylish! I am thinking of getting the dress you got for you sister's wedding for my husband's christmas party at work. The back of the dress seems to have a deep v– did you have to adjust that at all? Also, did you get it adjusted right to the knee or below the knee? Did you have to convince them to do it in black or were they happy to do that for you?
Hi! I just found your blog through pinterest. I love this eShakti site! It sounds amazing! I was wondering about the bridesmaid dress that you wore… the same questions as Lucy up there plus how were the sleeves? They look like they may be a little wide under the arm? I love the green color!
I'm with all the others in wondering- how do the sleeves look? Another picture would be amazing.
very nice,it is good collection. thank you for sharing this post..
