I hope you all had a Happy Valentine’s Day yesterday!

We kept ours fairly low key since we’re still recovering from the worst flu our house has ever had.

But since I love to make things feel special for holidays, I busted out some leftover pink balloons from my 30th birthday party last summer (HERE if you missed it!) and made a mini balloon arch on our kitchen chandelier (Chandelier details are in THIS POST).

I mean, what else am I going to do with all these pink balloons in a house full of boys!?

When I shared the balloon chandelier on my instagram stories yesterday, lots of you asked how I did it.

I started with these balloons (which are way brighter in person than they show on the site, FYI), and blew them up in a variety of sizes. These particular balloons are super thick and sturdy, so they were fine next to a light bulb, but some more delicate balloons will pop next to the heat.

You can use a low heat glue gun to attach them, but I just used long pieces of standard clear tape. I wrapped it around the knot of each balloon so the tape was sticking to itself (it didn’t stick very well to the latex), and then used the long piece of tape to attach it to the chandelier.

Fill in the empty spots with tiny balloons, and try to have a variety of sizes next to each other so it looks full and versatile. And that’s it!

As far as dinner last night, I made a killer cheese and meat board — our favorite! We had three different cheeses, five or six different crackers and breads, four kinds of cured meats, jam, almonds, grapes, and blackberries.

My very favorite combination is baguette with brie and jam. SO GOOD.

Also many of you asked about the room details.
