Valentine's Day is only a week away! Since it's in the middle of the week, we're skipping the crowds and doing our date over the weekend. I go back and forth every year dressing up or staying casual, and this year I think I'm going dressy. Last year I wore this stamped dress that I made.

I've been in such a Valentine mood the last few weeks, with pink, blush, and red everything. I ordered this pink knit from Fabric.com a few weeks ago and made this knife pleat dress, and while I was ordering I threw this red lace in my cart, not knowing what I'd make with it.

We've had an especially cold winter this year, with tons of rain, so I've been adding a few new cozy sweaters to my wardrobe to keep me warm. And although I love my pullover sweaters cause they're easy to toss on and go, a good chunky cardigan is also a great piece to add to your closet so you can layer over your warmer pieces. It opens up so many more possibilities in your closet!

One of the big trends of 2017 is embroidery. It's been coming on for the last few years, and I've typically seen it in more fancy pieces like lace dresses and tops. But this year it's becoming much more casual, and of course casual is my love language.
