White jeans are a summer wardrobe staple for me and are my go-to for a summer day, whether cool or warm. We’ve been hit with June Gloom for the past few weeks so the days have been overcast and cool, which means a lightweight jacket and pair of espadrille sneakers is perfect to keep me warm while still feeling summery.
This outfit could also be dressed up so easily by adding a structured jacket, like this black leather one, a pair of heels, and a dressy bag. In fact, I just might try that for date night next weekend (you can follow along on my instagram (@merricksart) to see my daily outfits and see if I remember!)
Also, this Madewell tee is one of my very favorites. I showed three different ways to wear it here, and it gets more wear than almost any other tee in my closet — it’s just so comfortable and versatile! And better yet, it’s on sale for under $30, and comes in a bunch of different colors. I’m totally picking up a few more before they sell out.
Happy Monday!
Fantastic bag and jacket! You look great in this casual and sporty outfit. 🙂

Ah, I miss June Gloom–its already way too hot and humid over hear on the east coast. Those espadrille sneakers are amazing!
Chic and comfortable. Love it!

Great look! I have a green jacket that is a staple for me all spring 🙂
I have 6 young kids, but I get dressed in cute clothes every single day (I’m Southern. It’s the way I was raised: clothes, hair, make up every day). HOWEVER, I have abandoned white on the bottom because that is the half of my body closest to little hands and faces and sitting in surprises sometimes. I even struggle with wearing white shirts at times because you just never know, right? How do you have the courage to wear white pants? I love this look, just not sure I could finish the day unmarked (on my pants).
PS I was in Santa Monica this weekend and didn’t even know there was such a thing as June Gloom. I was ever so sorry I didn’t have my trench. I froze.
Mine do get dirty sometimes, but I’m pretty careful to keep my kids shoes and messy hands away from them. And if they do get dirty, I can bleach anything right out!
Well, I finally pulled out the white shorts I bought at Ann Taylor (they are long enough even for this long-legged girl) and am wearing them today. They are called the boardwalk short. I got them in white, tan, navy and black. They even have some patterns. They sit low on the waist and are lean through the hip and thigh. They hit just at the top of my knee cap. Not mom shorts at all. I found them in store, but I don’t see them online. Now to find the courage to wear my white converse that have been in my closet for 6 months bc I don’t want to get them dirty.
A madewell store just opened up in Charleston. I’ll have to check it out and see if they have those great tees!
CUTE shoes!
A short cut
