I have now officially voted.

I joined the ranks of the early voters, and I have to say that was the best idea anyone came up with. I heard on the news that people like the idea of one big day where everyone comes and votes all at once, but I think I would have died if I had to stand in line for several hours. Instead I was in line for all of 20 minutes.

But I can’t help but wonder if it would have been a little more fulfilling, or satisfying if I’d HAD to wait in a 5 hour line. Coming to the county commissioner’s office (or something…), waiting in line for 20 minutes, getting my ID swiped, getting directed to the correct computer thingy, and pushing the correct X’s (you know which ones they are….) just seemed SO not what it was cracked up to be. It was over so fast! Yes, I got my “I Voted” sticker and wore it proudly the rest of the day, but I sort of wished I’d savored the moment a bit more, since I’ve been waiting for this moment for a long time. Not sure how I could have, but I wish I somehow could have.

Did anyone else vote early??

Ooh, thanks for the reminder to go do this today. . . I have no desire to wait in line for ages.

I have never voted…and frankly have no desire to this year either. Call me a bad citizen.

  3. I voted early!!!…but you knew that 🙂

THANK YOU for exercising your right to vote! Women have not had an easy time of earning that right.

No wonder so few people vote. I guess I didn’t realize that places were so disorganized or unprepared that there would be such a long wait.

We still do the old fashioned paper thing here. I truly believe it is a more honest way of voting. So many people check and cross check that it would be difficult to cheat.

I look forward to standing in line on Tuesday. I’ll do almost anything if I can do it without children… 🙂

I’m all for the early voting! The husband doesn’t trust it though- he’s full of conspiracy theories. He’ll be standing in line tomorrow. I just hope he’s not late for work!
