Last night in figure drawing class things started out a little sketchy (sorry…terrible pun…I just had to). My 30 second gesture drawings were awesome (forgot to take pictures of them), but once I started on the 5 minute drawings everything went down the drain. Seriously bad.
After my big inspirational night on Wednesday, I wasn’t about to give up after two bad drawings.
Focus, I told myself.
And focus I did.
And this was the product of my intense focusing…
Super glad I kept at it.
Wow!
Merrick, those seriously look so great! I'm super impressed. I feel like I should start taking classes there or something… do they let non-figure painting/drawing people come too???? 🙂
those are great! Good job!
A second "wow" Those really are beautiful.
Well, I'm not surprised in the least – I expect everything you do to be spectacular! I'm eager to see Landen's progress too – would she allow you to post some of her drawings? (You commented earlier she'd improved quite a bit!)
Merrick, you have quite the talent! I love your sketching style!
Hi Merrick, you don't know me, but I came across your blog through your sister's (Janssen) and I love your art. I have a wall still empty at home, in serious need of some art, and was wondering if you would be willing and able to do a drawing for me? I am seriously in love with the drawings on this post as well as your July 1st post (Motion). I would pay for shipping and handling as well as your time, of course. If you're interested and it's feasible, you can contact me at [email protected]. (My name is Saskia.) Thanks!
