When it comes to holiday style, I like to be a little more bold. My style is typically pretty simple and neutral, but every once in a while it’s fun to pull out the stops a bit and put on a statement piece.
Today I’m sharing two holiday looks, one dressed up and one dressed down, each with an amazing statement piece that makes the look and is easy to style.
Buffalo plaid is maybe my favorite pattern for winter. It’s bold, but also super versatile, and looks great on everyone. I love it on button up flannel shirts, skirts, scarves, bags, or a coat, like this one from Nordstrom that I’m wearing. I kept my outfit simple so the jacket would be the statement, but then added a pep in my step with these fun fur platform sneakers.
This jacket is so comfortable and perfect to throw on anytime. The folded lapels make it feel like a thick cardigan, so it’s easy to wear all day long. It’s also easy to dress up — just throw on a little black dress and some heels with it and you’re set.
This gold pleated midi skirt is so perfect as a statement piece for those holiday parties, and it’s so easy to style! Pair it with a slim black sweater like I did, or tone it down with chunky knit sweater or chambray shirt. When it comes to statement pieces, pairing them with basics is always best!
I wanted a little color in my outfit so I wore it with these deep burgundy velvet heels, and combined with the gold pleats, it makes for such a rich and interesting outfit.
