Yesterday was our last day of Christmas break. After 10 days of Philip being off, and us galavanting around town doing fun things, plus lots of other fun things cuddled up at home, we’re super sad to see the holidays come to an end. But, of course, I always love New Years and getting back into a good routine and working on my resolutions, so at least we have that to look forward to.
But before we get too far out, here are a few photos from our break!
. . . . .
The week before Christmas we invited our best friends over for a little gingerbread house making. The boys had a blast together (as always) and we loved seeing the differences in their houses based on their personalities.
A few days before Christmas, we took a trip to Roger’s Gardens. It was our first time going, but it came highly recommended and it turned out to be fun and low key (except when B insisted he get out of the stroller in a room full of insanely expensive glass ornaments).
Christmas Sunday:
On Christmas Eve we made sugar cookies and Peanut and I frosted them together.
Then he wrote a letter to Santa, left some cookies and milk by the fireplace, and off to bed he went.
Christmas morning was such a blast. It was our second year by ourselves and it was perfect.
Stocking stuffers from my A Little Bundle box — Buck LOOOVES this little stuffed frog and has to sleep with it every night (but only after he gives it a few giant hugs for good measure).

this is Buck’s signature move. He loves that pacifier clip and rubs it on his face with his pointer finger all day long. I love that I just happened to catch it on camera so I’ll never forget it.
his special gift he made all by himself in preschool class
B asked for two things for Christmas: paint and big trucks. he was obviously thrilled when paint showed up under the tree!
…and an ambulance!
Goodbye, Christmas break. We loved you!

Aww, I loved this post, Merrick! So warm and real and sweet. I love your beautiful style shoots, but I also love the action shots with your family and your boys. Somehow (compared to some other Christmas posts I've read) this one seemed uniquely real. Thank you for sharing!
Your boys a precious! I love reading your blog and getting ideas for fashion, crafts and places to check out since I also live in OC. Your blog is my favorite! Looking forward to another great year from you.
