[striped tee: target, jeans: abercrombie (altered by me), necklace: gifted (francesca’s), sandals: target]

This striped tee was a must-have when I saw it on the shelf at Target. All my other striped clothing is more dressy, so having a navy and white striped casual tee was just what my closet was wanting. Then, the second time I wore it, I got a nice orange stain two or three stripes below the neckline. I tried stain remover and bleaching over and over, but to no avail. Finally I bought a white fabric marker and went at the stain with that last night, but because the shirt is actually slightly off-white, the white paint was too obvious.

I was bound and determined to not throw this shirt away (I know what you’re thinking — why not run to Target and buy another for $8? I tried. They were gone. Sad story), so this morning, on a whim, I tried it on backward. And just like that, it’s a boatneck beauty. And I love it.

Welcome back to my closet, striped tee. Welcome back.

Brilliant idea. Amazing that it is cut so that the shirt doesn't choke you when it is on backwards. Navy and white striped T's have been a must in my closet since girls started wearing T shirts. (Don't ask how long ago that was, okay?) The last 3 or 4 years, tho, I've had to settle for black and white stripe. Just not the same.

I was just saying that I LOVE boatneck shirts as well! So universally flattering I think.

Great idea to turn it around – not sure I would have thought of that!
I guess you could also dye it a darker color (mustard perhaps?) to cover the stain..

  9. Try Sard's Wonder Soap! Not sure if they sell it in the States (it's Australian), but I swear by it to get stains out when nothing else wors!
