Wrapping presents is one of my favorite things to do during Christmas time. I used to dream of being a wrapper in those department store booths. I mean, all those different beautiful papers to choose from, amazing ribbons and bows, a full tape dispenser, and a large flat, clean surface perfect for wrapping — could it get any better?
Sadly, when it comes down to it, I typically don’t put a ton of effort into beautifully wrapped gifts because I just don’t have the time or the right materials. But it turns out that you don’t need a ton of big fancy materials to make beautifully wrapped gifts! I came up with four super easy wrapping ideas, each with materials you probably already have at your house, and used the gorgeous custom wrapping paper that Minted kindly sent me — see our cute faces on there? So no excuses for poorly wrapped presents this year!
1. Add some greenery.
Probably every single one of you has a wreath, garland, or a plant somewhere in your home or front yard. Wrap up your gift, tie it with a pretty ribbon, and then add a little sprig of greenery. Extra points if it’s fresh! It’s simple, but beautiful.
2. Ornament Embellishments.
I’m sure you all have extra ornaments lying around! These mini ones are perfect for a small gift, but the larger ones would also work great. Tie them together with a little bit of floral wire, add a sprig of greenery, and then secure them onto your ribbon.
3. Yarn Wrapped.
For a simple, rustic feel, take a couple yards of yarn and wrap it around the present, then tie in a bow at the front. This is a great wrapping idea for busier wrapping paper, like this minted navy pine wrapping paper from Minted.
4. Layered Look.
This is a perfect solution for the ends of your spools of ribbon that aren’t long enough to make a big nice bow. Cut a strip of burlap and layer it with a nice thick ribbon for a simple festive look. This could also look really cute with a bow in the center!
Now go make some pretty presents!
Very cute ideas! I love adding mini ornaments or sleigh bells to the gifts for a little bit of color!
