A few years ago while I was in LA in the fabric district, I stopped in at Michael Levine's upstairs loft store. It's a non-air conditioned room filled with huge cardboard boxes, each filled to the brim with fabric scraps from the downstairs Michael Levine store. In the summer it's basically a sauna filled with shoppers bent over the boxes, sweating bullets and digging through the scraps to find fabric gems.

I'm excited to start this new monthly series -- Fourteen Favorites Under Fifty where I show some of my favorites that are budget friendly. I'm loving crisp pinks and blues mixed with more masculine olive green right now. It's such an interesting combination for spring. I found fourteen great pieces in these colors, all under $50 and some even lower than that.

It's 2017, so I'm sure most of you know by now those fashion rules about not wearing your white pants in the winter, or not mixing brown and black together, are just silly. In the world of fashion, anything goes these days, for better or for worse. So white pants, especially white jeans, are totally acceptable any time of year.
