When I saw Palazzo pants showing up in stores, and a few bloggers wearing them, I was afraid. These big wide pants just seemed so overwhelming. But at the same time, a pair of pants that felt like pajamas, but looked fashionable, seemed like such a good idea.

My guess is that many of you are feeling the same way about this new trend…so today I’ve teamed up with Lulu*s to show you six easy ways to rock palazzo pants. Check it out, and don’t be afraid!

Casual. Paired with a tee and some bright sandals, this is about as casual of a look as you can create with these pants. Perfect for a day at home when I want to be comfy but cute.
tee: old navy // pants: c/o lulu*s // sandals: forever 21 (similar & similar)

Chic. A pair of pointed black heels and a white peplum top makes this black and white ensemble super chic.

peplum: c/o choies // pants: c/o lulu*s // heels: c/o kohls // sunglasses: target

Date Night. I love this look. A bright sweater, denim jacket, and strappy wedges? Perfect!

denim jacket: gap (similar here (on sale!) and here) // sweater: nordstrom rack (similar) // pants: c/o lulu*s // wedges: c/o lulu*s

Edgy. I don’t dress edgy very often, but I love this outfit. This faux leather jacket has become such a staple in my closet.

tee: old navy (similar) // leather jacket: c/o choies // boots: c/o jellypop (also here) // sunglasses: c/o choies

Dressy. I love that these pants can go from so casual to so dressy. With a silver sweater and strappy heels, you’re suddenly ready for a fancy night out.

sweater: c/o lulu*s // pants: c/o lulu*s // heels: c/o lulu*s // clutch: c/o windsor (similar) // earrings: gift (old)

Boho: Leanne and I were recently talking about styling palazzo pants and she mentioned she’d seen a girl wearing a pair with a loose blouse, a loose scarf, and a top knot. I recreated that look here and love how boho chic it turned out.

So…think you can rock some palazzo pants now? I do!

Hm. I'm not sure about this, especially since I am a shortie. But you look really cute! I'm just doubtful that the cut would flatter me.

  2. I love all these looks! These pants are something I would never even attempt to try these on. You may have changed my mind. Super cute.

Each look is cuter than the last!

Hmm… Definitely love these outfits, I'm just wondering if I could pull them off. But pajama-type pants sound like heaven to this teacher so I may have to try 🙂

  5. Kimberly says:

So many great ideas – I've never quite taken the plunge on pants like this because I'm more pear-shaped, but this has inspired me to give it a try! 🙂

I literally bought a pair of black and white patterned palazzo pants at Target YESTERDAY because they were so incredibly comfortable. Though, when I got them home, I was thinking about how to wear them, and I drew a huge blank. This post could not have been more perfectly timed! Thank you!

  16. Colby says:

I love the versatility you showcased! I still don't know if I am brave enough to rock those babies, but you definitely can!!

  17. MamaMunky says:

They are cute, but they just look like pajamas to me. I don't think I'll be trying this trend. 🙁

  18. I love the date night outfit! All of the looks look great on you 🙂

Each outfit is so nice! I love the boho look the most.

  21. Cait says:

The third one, with the jean jacket, is cute, but I don't really like the look. I'm all for PJ pants in the house, but I would never leave the house in them, and that's all those pants remind me of. You look good in them, though.

  22. Those look SO comfy! And its totally not my style, but I love the last look the best!!

Really cute outfits. I love Palazzos, but sometimes I feel like they make me look even smaller. But I'll try some of the looks you showed here. Thanks for sharing.

  24. Kylie says:

I love them all! Especially the dressy one. Might have to invest in a pair of these myself sometime soon. It was so fun to run into you on Saturday at Knott's! I hope you and your boys had a fun day. 🙂

  25. you knocked it out of the park lady! I love the "chic" look the best!

  26. Okay I never would have thought to wear them but you have changed my mind! The boho styling and the chic styling are fab!!! Great choices Merrick 🙂

  27. I recently bought my first pair of palooza pants and and personally, I have found my new taste in life! I rock these pants, not to sound concieted, but hey! I have had my eye on these pants for a while and was in pure heaven when I located a store with them!!! I will eventually own a whole closet full! My favorite are the multicolored ones! They bring such life to an outfit and of course, the pants are a statement piece all by themselves; Not to mention the fact that they are completely and utterly comfy!! I'm just so in love! So thanks for giving me some more ideas on how to pair them up with other pieces.
