These three make ahead breakfasts make early mornings before school so much easier. Try out these breakfast burritos, muffins, and parfait cups for easy and healthy on-the-go breakfasts!


When we moved to Texas, we had to completely adjust our schedule. School here starts earlier and ends later than our California school, and Fos went from half day to full day Kindergarten.

It’s been a bit of an adjustment for all of us, but the game changer has been make ahead breakfasts for our kids in the morning.

Having breakfast ready to go each morning allows them to sleep in an extra 10-15 minutes, and has made our mornings much less rushed.

We made all of these on Sunday so they’re ready for the week!

These really easy breakfast burritos are a great source of protein for your kids early in the morning! My boys also love having one after school. We prep a huge batch of them on Sundays, and they hold up perfectly in the freezer all week.

Kid Approved Low Sugar Pumpkin Muffins

Muffins are always a good option for a quick and hearty breakfast. But I don’t like store bought muffins cause they’re packed with sugar! So I make THESE PUMPKIN MUFFINS at home with less sugary substitutes — they are quick to put together and they freeze so well.

We microwave them for 15 seconds so they’re warm as we walk out the door.

Easy Fruit and Yogurt Parfaits

I got this recipe for these easy fruit and yogurt parfaits from my friend, Marci, last year. She made these as a dessert for a baby shower and they were so yummy but not over the top sweet. The nut and date crumble is what makes them!

We keep these in the fridge (not the freezer) and recommend layering them with the yogurt on the bottom, then the fruit, and then the crumble on top so the crumble doesn’t get soggy. They can last up to a week in the fridge. Layer them normally if you’re eating them right away!

    These are fabulous ideas and recipes. That pumpkin one looks amazing. It looks like you may have substituted applesauce for the oil? i love how it is lower fat but still looks so good. i am definitely making those this weekend, but will probably add the chocolate chips – lol. curious if the kids have a no homework policy in texas like they did in california? i always found that interesting!!!

    I love cupcakes, combined with delicious tea you can make an incredible Breakfast, thank you for sharing! In fact, it is very important to choose a good variety of tea to cupcakes with a small amount of sugar, I think on the site I’ll just read which kind of tea works best
