Well, today is the day. The big moving day. This time tomorrow we’ll be off on our new adventure in California, and after seven and a half years, we’ll no longer be residents of Provo (how is it possible that we ended up here for 7 1/2 years? Never would have guessed that in a million years, but man, has it been great).
We celebrated Thanksgiving with Philip’s parents this year. We’d been planning on it all year, and then when Philip got his job promotion and we found out we were moving, we debated backing out so we could move a little earlier in the month. After throwing around a bunch of different options, we opted to move after Thanksgiving so we could celebrate with our family. Glad we did.
We started off the day with cinnamon rolls and green smoothies (I’m pretty sure I’d like to start every day like that from now on), and then spent the rest of the day lounging around and doing minimal prep work for dinner. Even though nothing would be packed until Friday, I wanted to keep the day as low key and relaxing as possible. And happily, it was.
Dinner was delicious, and although I remembered the cranberry sauce hours after dinner was over, everything was a success, and we stuffed ourselves silly.
Oh, and I made a killer three-berry pie (with this crust) for dessert. All in all, a fabulous Thanksgiving.
Now I’m itching to get to California and get my Christmas decorations up, because my Thanksgiving weekend was definitely not complete without putting up the Christmas tree.
