Last Wednesday, we woke up early, packed up the car, and started our Thanksgiving roadtrip to Las Vegas.
After nearly four hours of driving, we stopped in St. George. Philip had to attend a few work meetings, so Peanut and I went off together for a few hours and killed time having lunch together and playing on the temple grounds.
We arrived in Las Vegas in the early evening, and after a fun night with the family, we all went to bed much too late. We were up bright and early (thanks to Peanut’s lack of time change adjustment), but were welcomed with pumpkin pancakes and deviled eggs, which made the morning much happier.
We spent the rest of Thanksgiving day making and eating lots of delicious food, taking naps, watching the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, and of course, watching lots of football.
On Friday, we spent the day at the Venetian hotel with Philip’s parents who drove up to spend Thanksgiving with my side of the family. Philip and Peanut were the only ones brave enough to try out the heated (but still chilly) pool.
After a fun day on the strip, we left Peanut with a babysitter, and all the adults went off to the Aria hotel to see Cirque de Soleil’s new show Viva Elvis. It was a fantastic show [and who knew that Elvis was actually attractive in his younger [pre-sideburn/white jumpsuit] days?!].
We spent the rest of the weekend with my family, and after church on Sunday, and a quick picture of Peanut with his grandparents, we headed back home.
