Looking Forward

My family has always been big travelers. Therefore, traveling is in my blood. It's just part of life. My life would be boring and incomplete without traveling.

Fortunately I married a travel lover.

We've been on several large trips in our two and a half years together, and even more small trips. And in the weeks (or months) before each trip, I can't stop thinking about our upcoming trip. I think about what I'm going to wear, what pictures we're going to take, what activities we plan to do, and probably some more about what I'm going to wear. And maybe what I'm going to buy and eventually wear.

(For someone who thinks so much about what they're wearing, you would think that I'd actually look better on the actual trip...)

We have a few trips planned for the summer and I can't wait! Las Vegas for my friend's wedding, Sedona/Phoenix with Philip's parents, our family reunion, a surprise trip for my birthday, and a big trip back east to visit our sister's who are moving there.

Right now, all I can think about is our Las Vegas trip and our Sedona/Phoenix trip. Once those are over, I'll move on to thinking non-stop about the family reunion and my birthday trip! It's a thrill that keeps me going every day. It keeps me excited. Keeps a smile on my face.

I know I'll always travel just so I can be this happy and excited all the time.

Now if only I could manage to look this good on vacation:.

Am I the only one who gets this excited for trips that are months away?

  1. We don't usually travel to faraway places in our little family. It is too hard with little ones, but this year we are going on a cruise with my family to Mexico (no kiddos) and then we are going to Lake Powell with his family (kiddos included). I can't stop thinking about both of them.

  3. I used to love to travel, although I've only been in the Lower 48 and Canada. I did it so much that it became second nature to throw things in a bag and leave. I always had to make sure my laundry was caught up, though! Now, money is tighter. Also, my husband is self-employed so it is extremely difficult to leave for more than a day or two at a time, and we don't make other business trips that we used to make. And, lucky you. Your husband likes to trave. Mine doesn't. Oh, and quit putting yourself down about how you look. :) You are just as cute as can be.

  4. I always like to have a trip to look forward to!

  5. I too am a major trip lover...I relish in the planning- (I have a secret wish to be a travel agent) and I plan out awesome activities to complete on our trip, whoe to travel ect. There is the thrill of going somewhere 'new' and then the comfort of coming home to the familiar. I've gotten Ryan on the travel bug too- but it is awesome to travel, we LOVE it!

  6. Sounds like fun! We love to travel too, but won't be doing much of it for a while with our budget and a brand new baby. I'm not sure if you already saw my last comment that I deleted, but if so, I was getting some people mixed up, so Josh told me just to erase it. Anyway, I was just saying that Philip is lucky to be able to get so much time off from his job. Josh has sometimes had a hard time getting time off from there in the summer - so that is very cool that you guys are able to go so many fun places.

  7. Yes, you are the only one who gets excited about a trip that is months away! :)

  8. Hey. Random. I saw a comment you left on a photographer's blog about Conrad Nebaker. Wow. Let's be blog friends. ;)
